Support for Parents & Carers

At Todmorden High School, we strongly encourage parents and carers to attend progress evenings, which provide valuable opportunities to discuss your child’s learning, development and next steps.

We also host a range of key information events to support families at important transition points. Our annual Year 9 Options Evening is designed to help students and their parents or carers make informed and ambitious choices about Key Stage 4 subjects. In addition, we organise a dedicated Year 11 Post-16 Evening, where families can meet a wide range of local providers and explore the diverse pathways available beyond school.

We recognise that supporting young people as they begin to consider their future can feel challenging, particularly in a rapidly changing world where opportunities continue to evolve. Today’s students are faced with an unprecedented range of options, alongside important decisions about their next steps. These events are designed to ensure that both students and their families feel informed, confident and well-supported as they navigate these choices.
